1st Blog: books: The Fault in Our Stars

Okay, so this is my first blog, so it's probably not going to be that good or interesting. I'm just going to show some my favorite books and book series here.

Book #1: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
This is my all time favorite book, by my all time favorite author. I read this book last year. I went to the library, looking for a book to read for my class, and asked the librarian for a recommendation, and she went over to the shelves and pulled out The Fault in Our Stars. I  looked at it, and read the passage inside the book cover, and it seemed interesting, so I checked it out. I had never heard of John Green before. I read the book in a day. I couldn't put it down. I loved it.
Anyways, so I researched the author for my class project (we all were supposed to choose any book and do some type of project on it: poster, oral report, essay, Powerpoint, etc.). I typed in "John Green" to Wikipedia and I learned that not only is he an author, but he is also on Youtube! He has a web series with his brother, Hank, called the Vlogbrothers. I'll talk more about that in a minute.
John Green has also written and co-written other fantastic books (okay, I haven't read them yet, but they just HAVE to be fantastic, based on the author/authors), and some of his books are going to be made into movies, or have been, but just haven't premiered yet. The Fault in Our Stars movie comes out on June 6th. I'm so excited! Speaking of which, this is becoming more about John Green and the vlogbrothers than it is about the Fault in Our Stars, but I'll talk about TFiOS after a couple more rants about Vlogbrothers.
Okay, so the Vlogbrothers started out as a one-year project between John and Hank Green, where they would only communicate through video-blog, or, vlog, and post them on youtube. They called this: "Brotherhood 2.0". After the year was up, they decided to keep posting videos because of the following they got in the past year. Since they started vlogging on January 1, 2007, they have started different groups and projects throughout youtube and beyond. For more information, click on this link to Wikipedia. It's accurate information, last time I checked.
Okay, back to TFiOS. The story is from the point of view of Hazel Grace Lancaster, a 16 year old who has cancer. One day, she goes to a cancer support group(which her mom makes her go to) and she meets Augustus Waters, who is on remission from osteosarcoma, a bone cancer that caused him to lose one of his legs. The story is a love story between Hazel and Augustus. It isn't like most stories about people with cancer, how they make it really sad and make the characters think only about their cancer. It's actually realistic. It talks about her and Augustus's likes and dislikes and hobbies and hopes and dreams, and it's a really fantastic story. It made me laugh at times, almost cry at times, and it made a lot of others cry, according to the internet. I recommend it to everyone. Oh, and I made a powerpoint for my project, and it turned out really good, but I forgot my flash-drive, so I had to give an oral report to get the credit for the project. I never got to show my powerpoint. And I worked so hard on it. I may figure out a way to post it on here, somehow. Anyways, The Fault in Our Stars is my favorite book and one of the best books you will ever read. And read the book before you watch the movie. ALWAYS READ THE BOOK FIRST!
By the way, if this doesn't sell you on the book(which it probably won't. I'm not the best at writing reviews or giving recommendations), look up other reviews online. I swear, no one anywhere has a bad thing to say about it. Everyone loves it.
